If you or your family are looking to travel in or out of the Quad Cities, there's now one less hotel near the airport to stay at.

The America's Best Value Inn at 6920 27th Street was condemned this week, after fire and building inspections. According to the city's signs on the building, it was deemed dangerous to the public with its current conditions.

The front doors have been boarded up and the phone number for the hotel has been deactivated, with a recording saying it's “temporarily unavailable.”

It's sad to see a hotel so conveniently placed go under, but the health and well-being of Moline residents and visitors is far more important. Have you ever stayed at that hotel?
