This is scary.

The Blue Grass Police Department recently made a Facebook post warning residents about a terrifying, new car theft scheme:

According to the post, it appears QCA car thieves are only becoming bolder. A resident recently had their vehicle stolen after the thief followed the driver to their home. The car keys were apparently stolen from inside the residence of the victim, but the post does not make it clear how the perpetrator gained access to the victim's home.

A recent crop of thefts have been committed by thieves using this new scheme: they follow a car with their lights off, then steal the vehicle once the driver has walked away.

As always, the Blue Grass Police Department reminds drivers to not only keep their cars locked at all times but to make sure your residence has its doors locked as well. If thieves are bold enough to enter a house, who knows what else they're capable of.
