Columnist Breaks Leg During Postgame Celebration at Iowa-Iowa State Basketball Game
A 20-point comeback victory at home is worth a good court-storming, but one Cyclone columnist caught the worst of it.
As students and fans rushed the court Thursday night after Iowa State's 83-82 win over Iowa, Des Moines Register columnist Randy Peterson was accidentally knocked over and fractured the tibia and fibula in his leg.
Peterson was on the Dan Patrick Show this morning and said he was not "trampled" by the court-stormers, just knocked over.
The Cyclones trailed by as much as 20 in the 2nd half before chipping away and ending the game on an 8-0 run to come out with the win and stay undefeated.
