Just two days left in January. Is it just me or has this been a loooong month?

1 - BREAKING NEWS: Rock Island firefighters remain on the scene of an early morning blaze at Jake O's Grille on Blackhawk Road west of 30th Street. According to our news partners WQAD, the blaze broke out at about 4 this morning.  Blackhawk Road is closed between 30th St and 17th Street. People are being asked to avoid the area.

2 - We're off to a cold start this morning at just 18º at 6am. Skies will cloud over today with a dusting of snow expected in the Quad Cities, perhaps an inch up Dubuque way. High temps will hover a few degrees above freezing through Wednesday. Here's your detailed forecast from WQAD Meteorologist Eric Sorensen.

3 - The Commissioner's Trophy awarded to the 2016 World Series champion Chicago Cubs will be on display for the public to see at the River Music Experience today between Noon and 1:30pm . Folks can take a quick pic with the trophy before the trophy is taken to Iowa City for fans there to view. We'll have local sports scores on That Sports Thing around 7:35 this morning.

4 - Actor Mike Conners, who starred in the 1970's TV show Mannix, and passed away last week, had a Quad Cities connection. He narrated and starred in a short film promoting chiropractic for Palmer College. Here's a link to the 1978 video on You Tube.
