It is slick out there this morning. Be careful.

- An inch of light snow fell over night and as of 6:30am, many city streets have not been adequately treated, so it is very slick this morning. There are reports of a multiple vehicle accident on I-80 near Middle Road in Bettendorf. Leave yourself extra time to get where you're going, and extra space to stop. More snow is on the way according to WQAD Meteorologist Eric Sorensen, but we'll warm up for the weekend.

- According to a listing on their website at www.mvfair.com, the Mississippi Valley Fair is bringing John Mellencamp to the grandstand for a show this Saturday, August 5th. Mellencamp played the Adler Theater last April, and it was one of the best shows I have ever seen. We'll talk more about this concert announcement on That Hollywood Thing around 8:35am on The Morning KIIK Start.

- The Mercer County girls basketball team advanced to the 2A Regional final with a win over the Alleman Pioneers last night. The girls from Aledo will meet Sherrard in the final on Thursday night. More local sports scores on That Sports Thing at about 7:35am on FM 104.9

- Bettendorf School Board officials are considering adding a week-off for students in October, much like the break Rock Island-Milan schools experience in the fall. Read more about those plans here.
