1 - It may be March 1 - the beginning of meteorological Spring - but, February went out like a lion with hail, funnel clouds and tornadoes reported throughout our area. One Ottawa-area resident is dead as a result of the storm. WQAD Meteorologist Eric Sorensen has the details on how March will come in. The warm temps and rain is also causing minor flooding on areas rivers.
2 - Rock Island County primary elections held yesterday will likely result in both East Moline and Silvis having new mayors. In Moline, write-in ballots won't be counted until today, but the clerk's office says write-in candidate Stephanie Acri will advance to the general election ballot to face incumbent Scott Raes.
3 - The Bettendorf boy's basketball team squeaked by North Scott in Iowa District Class 4A action last night. Ottawa had an emotional win over United Township to setup a final against the winner of tonight's Rock Island vs Moline game in Friday's Illinois Class 4A Regional Championship game. 4 - Chris Pratt showed up to Jimmy Kimmel, Live! last night with the new trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 2. The trailer is thrilling fans on the internet this morning. More entertainment news when we do That Hollywood Things around 8:35am this morning on FM 104.9.
