Social Media can be a great thing. Just recently through it's "magic" I reconnected with an old college buddy that I hadn't heard from in many years. Social Media also has a dark side. Part of that is a spoof that's going around right now that traces to India.

According to a story reported on by our news partner WQAD-TV, tweets and Facebook posts are going around that encourage iPhone users say, Hey Siri 108. It tells people to do it then watch what happens. What happens is that Siri will begin a five second countdown to a 911 emergency call. 108 in India is the equivalent of 911 in the United States or 999 in Great Britain.

Of course pranks like this have the potential to overload the 911 system or take 911 dispatchers attention away time from real emergencies.

Be careful out there.
