Before now have you ever heard the name Jim Delligatti? Ever read it anywhere? Unless your a fast food historian I guessing the answer is no. But I can almost guarantee that his creation and contribution to the fast food industry has touched your life in one way or another.

Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun. Right Jim Delligatti was the McDonald's franchisee that came up with the Big Mac. And as they say, the rest is history. Delligatti is also credited with helping introduce breakfast service to McDonald's.

He passed away today at the age of 98 and according to his son still ate at least one Big Mac a day. Think I know what I'm having for dinner.
