Strong security will be present for the Geneseo High School graduation Sunday after a student threatened violence at the graduation. According to Ourquadcities.com police learned of the threat last Friday, May 18.

Geneseo School Resource Officer, Tim Wise told Ourquadcities.com that police usually have a presence at school sporting events and the ceremony although police try to be lower profile at graduation. This year Geneseo Police plan to have a visible presence throughout the school before, during and after graduation. Wise told Ourquadcities.com that the presence does a couple of things: "It reassures people as well I think it causes some sort of prevention when they know there’s going to be law enforcement present.”

Police didn't disclose the nature of the threat because the investigation is ongoing. Graduation is at 2PM CT on Sunday.
