Iowa and Illinois D.O.T.s Warn Of I-74 Bridge Distractions

They were talking about a new I-74 bridge when I arrived here 18 years ago. I honestly thought it would never get built. Construction is finally underway and it is pretty cool to see all the activity.

However, many drivers are becoming too distracted gazing over at the new bridge while driving across the old one and accidents are becoming a little too commonplace as a result.

It's good advice. The last thing you want to do is kiss the railing with your car on the old bridge while you're daydreaming about the spacious width of the new bridge.
