Despite selling 50 million records and having 18 Top 40 singles, the band Journey had never been included on a Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Ballot before this year. That oversight was rectified yesterday when the band was named as one of the Hall inductees for 2017 on their first ballot.

The induction ceremony will take place on April 7, just four days after the band plays at the Quad Cities iWireless Center with opening act Asia on Monday, April 3rd.

In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Guitarist Neal Schon says he hopes original singer Steve Perry will reunite with his bandmates for the RRHOF ceremony and the usual post-induction jam session. Schon says he and Perry haven't spoken in person since 2005, though they have e-mailed back and forth.
