Mallards Prepare For Season Opener on Friday

Today's change in the weather is certainly a signal that the hockey season starts this week.

The NHL opens with four games tonight, including the Chicago Blackhawks at St. Louis.

Our own Quad City Mallards have whittled their roster down to 21 players, with only six being returnees from last year.

The Flock will open their 20th season Friday night - October 14 at 7pm at the iWireless Center. Tickets for the home opener against Fort Wayne start at $10. It's also $2 hot dog and $2 beer night at the rink. A season schedule poster will be given away, and there will be fireworks after the game.
