Supporting small, local businesses is so important, so I'm happy to see another vendor is opening a retail space in the Village of East Davenport.

Local handmade shop Escape Goat Soaps, which has previously sold products at Crafted QC, the Freight House farmer's market, and craft fairs around the area, is opening up a storefront this Saturday, according to their Facebook page.

The new shop is located at 1018 Mound Street in the East Village. Hours are tentatively set for 9-5 Monday through Friday and 10-4 on Saturdays, according to the owner. Escape Goat also added in another post that handmade brands will be joining them at the shop eventually.

I could not be more thrilled about this news. I'm a huge fan of Escape Goat, and have purchased their soaps and bath bombs several times for myself and as gifts for others. The products are made with fresh goat's milk straight from a local farm and pure essential oils, making the products free of toxic chemicals. Plus, the soaps smell seriously good. I can't wait to check out the new space.
