Niabi Zoo in Coal Valley is by far one of the jewels of the Quad Cities.  I don't know too many areas of our size that have a zoo of such quality. When my son was younger he loved going to Niabi, especially for Boo at the Zoo around Hallowe'en.

This Saturday, April 15th, Niabi Zoo opens for yet another season. Jonathan Ketz from our news partner WQAD News 8 reports that Niabi has added some domestic animals including alpacas and mini donkeys this year. They've also added a $3 parking fee.

Admission to the zoo is $8.25 for adults and $6.25 for kids, which doesn't include the new $3 parking fee.
