Kids learn to read better by reading to dogs. That's the crux of a story in the Quad City Times that talks about the Davenport Library's "Read to a Dog" program. Lexie Reiling, youth services and program supervisor at the Davenport library tells the Quad City Times the program is geared for kids just starting to read independently.

She goes on to say that the dogs are fantastic to read to because unlike a grown-up, the dog won't be telling the kids their doing anything wrong. It creates a pressure free atmosphere for the kids to practice reading.

The "Read to a Dog" program takes place once a month at the Eastern Avenue Branch of the Davenport Library. The next session is Monday January 8th at 5PM,
