There's nothing better for cooling down on a hot summer say than a dip in the pool, or the splash pad.

It may not be hot enough this weekend, but soon the temps will be sweltering, and these cool-down spots in the Quad Cities will be opening this weekend to provide relief form the upcoming summer heat.

Whitewater Junction in Rock Island opens this weekend. The Rock Island Argus reports that "Starting Saturday, Whitewater Junction will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday. A "Back to Pool Bash" is planned noon to 5 p.m. June 5 with games, prizes and a DJ."

The spray pad in Schwiebert Park on the riverfront in Rock Island is now open daily from sunrise to 10p.m.

The Riverside Family Aquatic Center in Moline will be open Noon to 6pm every Tuesday through Thursday, and from Noon to 5 pm Friday through Monday beginning June 3.

In Davenport, the Dohse Pool, Fejervary Family Aquatic Center, and Annie Wittenmyer Family Aquatic Center will be open 12:30-5 and 6-8pm Tuesday through Friday, and 1-6pm on Saturday and Sunday beginning June 2.

On days when temps are 65º or higher, the spray Parks in Centennial Park, Cork Hill, Goose Creek and Peterson Parks will be open 10am-8pm.

Bettendorf's Splash Landing Aquatic Center opens on Memorial Day. Hours are 11:30am to 5pm. They also hold night swims weekdays between 6:30-8 pm.
