A Quad-City Salvation Army will host public events Sept. 8-10 to celebrate its 125th anniversary of serving Rock Island County. The Salvation Army Heritage Temple Corps is the combination of the former Moline and Rock Island Corps.

The anniversary weekend starts Friday with a celebration dinner from 6–8 p.m. at the Quad-City Botanical Center, 2525 4th Ave., Rock Island and includes a program highlighting the history of the Salvation Army in Rock Island County and a silent-auction. Tickets are $25 and may be purchased by calling the Salvation Heritage Temple Corps at 309-764-6996.

The Heritage Temple Corps will host a block party at the Corps center, 2200 5th Ave., Moline, on Saturday Sept. 9, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will feature food and family activities. An open air meeting will be at the Heritage Temple Corps from 10:45 a.m. to noon on Sunday, Sept. 10.
