It's hard to believe, but according to the Quad City Times downtown Moline has never had a pharmacy. That's changing this spring when Schnucks will open a pharmacy on the ground floor of the Shive-Hattery building, 1701 River Drive.

This past fall The Project of the Quad Cities (TPQC) renovated some space in the building and moved in. If you're unfamiliar with The Project of the Quad Cities offers a range of health services from testing and treatment of STD's and HIV, LGBTQ services, to counseling and services for victims of domestic violence.

Noah Tennyson, Schnucks director of special pharmacy tells the paper:

We have had a great collaboration with The Project of the Quad Cities for several years now; we serve a lot of the same patients.

I think the ability for patients to receive the services they need and pick up prescriptions in the same building is convenient. Especially in downtown Moline where the nearest pharmacy is two miles away.

The pharmacy will be open from 9:00AM-5:30PM weekdays and Schnucks has no plans to open a grocery store on the Illinois side of the Quad Cities. If you are interested in learning more about The Project of the Quad Cities please click here.
