Today is #Havefunatworkday and the United States Marine Corps posted a short video reminding us we're probably having more fun at work than the latest batch of Marine recruits.

The short video made me think of few different things. One, what a positive impact being a Marine had on my friends who served. Being a Marine helped them become who they are today. While basic training wasn't fun. None of my friends regret their service to our country, and they treasure how serving has helped them ever since.

It made me think of the old saying, "Do what you'll love and you'll never work a day in your life." Yeah, I'll call B.S. on that. Don't get me wrong, loving your job or having a career that matches your passion does make work easier. That said, there are still bad days, hard days and long days. But yes, if  your passion can match up with a great career it will be a little easier.

Finally, the Marines post made me think of all who have served. All who have maybe put aside what they wanted to do because they wanted to serve our Country, or our Country asked them to help protect our interests. To all of those people I say thank you.

Whatever you do have a good day at work. Try to smile. If not for yourself, then do it for the Marines who are trying to cut it during basic training. Because we are definitely having a better day than they are.
