Honda has recalled about 100,000 2018 and 2019 model year Odyssey Mini Vans. The sliding doors on the vehicle may open while the SUV is in motion. This according to a report from cbs2iowa.com.

The Odyssey underwent a redesign for the 2018 model year. As part of that redesign the power sliding door rear latch assembly was also redesigned. Honda has found these latches are prone to sticking and restrict the ability of the sliding door to securely latch to the door strikers. What this means is, you can be driving down the road and the Honda's sliding door can open.

Honda is letting dealers know about the recall this week, and owners who have vehicles that need to be repaired will receive a letter in the mail by December 20. Honda will replace the rear sliding door latch assembly for free. Additionally, if your Honda dealer doesn't have the parts to replace the latch immediately they can disable the power doors. The sliding doors will latch properly when manually closed.
