Yesterday, some disturbing news came out of Ames, Iowa; ISU golfer Celia Barquin Arozamena, the 2018 Big 12 champion and the school's female athlete of the year, was found dead on a golf course.

The call came when other golfers found a golf bag with no one around it. Officers located Barquin Arozamena's body in a pond near the ninth hole of the course. It was determined that Barquin Arozamena suffered "several stab wounds to the upper torso, head and neck," Ames police said in a criminal complaint.

Now, just 24 hours later, her killer has been served charges. A 22-year-old man named Collin Daniel Richards has been with first-degree murder following an extensive investigation.

The crime is currently believed to be a random act of violence, which makes it all the worse. Too many people have gone missing in Iowa this year, and you never want to see it end like this. We are sending our love and thoughts to the family, and hope they find strength in those around them.
