So sad. A longtime resident of Niabi Zoo has died.

According to Local News 4, Molly the zebra was euthanized Monday because of health problems attributed to her advanced age.

At 35, Molly lived to be the third oldest zebra on record. Only 25 percent of zebras in captivity live to the age of 24, so Molly had far surpassed that milestone. In recent years, the zebra had suffered from chronic joint and bone issues and had undergone treatment for the pain.

Molly will definitely be missed by zoo-goers.
