All Quad City Family Video Locations Are Now Permanently Closed
Last Month Highland Ventures Ltd., announced that all remaining Family Video stores across the country would be closing. Different locations would close at different times once all current inventory was sold.
It appears that the day of reckoning has come for the Quad Cities Family Video. Like many other spots nationwide, they are now officially closed.
There were 3 Family Video locations in the Quad Cities at:
- 3833 N Division St, Davenport
- 2925 18th St, Bettendorf
- 4100 12th Ave, Moline
I decided to try and call to see if any were open today. The Davenport location's number was already disconnected. The Bettendorf location had a nice lady answer who told me they were permanently closed, and the Moline location had this pop up when I clicked the "call link."
We can now say without a doubt that the three Family Video locations in the QC are closed, and it appears that other Iowa and Illinois locations have the same fate.
As of now, most if not all, locations nationwide are officially closed forever as of February 17th. You can learn more about the store here, or on their Facebook page as they say their final goodbyes and share their story.
The store will be missed by many in the Quad Cities including myself, the nostalgia will be missed.
