Bettendorf Experiencing a Wave of Vehicle Burglaries

If you live or work in Bettendorf, make sure to keep your car doors locked.

According to Local News 4, Bettendorf PD responded to several car burglaries on Tuesday. Two of the vehicles had been stolen.

On Wednesday, an attempted vehicle theft was witnessed on Parkwild Drive.

Two vehicles have been reported stolen in the areas of Parkwild Drive and Avalon Drive. Both cars had been left unlocked with the keys left inside. One of the cars was a Ford Fusion that was later located in Davenport following a crash. The other, a Chevy Cruze, was recovered by Davenport Police this morning.

Teenagers are being held by the police in connection to the recovered Cruze.

Police remind residents that although car thefts have gone down overall in the last six months, it's important to always keep vehicles locked.
