Bettendorf Police Department Now Official Girl Scout Cookie Drop Off Center

Just when you thought police officers were famous for loving donuts, think again. The Bettendorf Police Department has officially shied away from the stereotype and is now accepting Girl Scout Cookies.

On Tuesday (Feb. 4), the Bettendorf Police Department wanted to let the residents of Bettendorf and the world know that the department is officially Girl Scout Cookie Drop Off Center. They announced the addition to the department on Facebook. 

In the Bettendorf Police Department's post they say,

"Effective immediately, the Bettendorf Police Department will be designated an official Girl Scout cookie drop-off center. Anyone who decides to drop off their UNOPENED boxes of cookies can do so any time day or night. After all, we are a 24/7 public service agency." They give concerned residents reassurance for the night shift works mentioning that milk will be provided with the cookies.

The department will accept open boxes of cookies. Those cookies will be given to the brave men and women of the Bettendorf Fire Department.

For anyone who normally treats the Bettendorf Police Department as an "Official Donut Drop Off Center," have no fears. They will return to accepting donuts after Girl Scout Cookie season. PHEW!!!!

They do mention this on a seriousness in their post,

the Girl Scouts work hard to earn the badges they get from their cookie sales. The cookie sales also help provide funding for their troop. On top of all this, the Girl Scouts also send donated boxes of cookies to our military men and women.
