We're bringing Brad Paisley to you!

Brad Paisley is, no doubt, one of the hottest guys in country music right now. He's a blast to talk to, a huge Packers fan (as I found out when I met him) and he doesn't make you feel totally stupid when you make an awkward joke ... *insert record scratch* ... ya, cuz, I  managed to do that when I met him. I wanted to slap my palm to my forehead several times, summons the Calgon to take me away, and simultaneously wish I could hit the "that-moment-when" delete button and start over with, 'normal.'  Like a "Hi, I'm Joni from The Hawk. We play your music. Thank you so much for a great show tonight." THAT would have fallen into the 'normal' category.

You think I can manage that? Nope! I had to go on about his mad guitar skills, called him the Stevie Ray Vaughn of country music, which he appreciated. But then, we got to football. And I'm about as wild about football as I am ..... *cricket*. I tried to use the VISUAL Julie Andrews Facebook meme in a joke, except, I didn't have a picture of the meme to show him. You know, the one where she is in the mountains, hills and hollers, arms open wide with a cheesy grin? The meme says "This is me caring about football."  I am still sitting here, shaking my head about it. I meet Brad Paisley and I just HAD to Julie Andrews' him with the same joke that failed last week in the hallways of our radio station with PRO football player and Quad City native, Alex Tanney.  I should've known. Still shaking my head...

So here's my redeeming attempt at 'normal.'

Brad Paisley is hosting the 2015 CMA Awards, along with Carrie Underwood! The Hawk is your Official CMA station and will broadcast the CMAs LIVE tomorrow night, November 4th. The coverage and red carpet action begins at 5 p.m. with the show starting at 7 p.m.

If you can watch it, grab it on WQAD News Channel 8!
