BREAKING: Rock Island Mayor Won’t Run for Re-election
Rock Island Mayor Dennis Pauley has decided not to run for re-election in the spring of next year.
As mayor, Pauley directed what turned out to be a failed effort to bring a Walmart store to the former Watchtower Plaza property on 11th Street, leading city council to provide a multitude of economic development incentives, and spend millions to relocate existing businesses.
