Though the storm itself is off our TV screens now, the effects of Hurricane Matthew continue to plague the people of Haiti, and the southeastern United States.

In Haiti, the storm resulted in nearly 1,000 deaths. Haiti's president now says famine is a real possibility if the country doesn't receive aid soon.  A cholera breakout is also a threat.

North Carolina is suffering from record flooding as a result of rain from Matthew, and over 20" of rainfall since September.  Swollen rivers and broken dams have also washed away roads, stranding thousands of residents who evacuated the approaching storm last week, and preventing them from returning home.
