It's been two and a half years since fire destroyed The Captain's Table restaurant in Moline.

This restaurant has been a Quad Cities mainstay as long as I can remember. It may have been the best place in town to enjoy incredible views of the Mississippi River. Fire destroyed the building back in January, 2018, but after plenty of hard work the restaurant is set to open August 14.

According to the QC Times, restaurant manager, Rob Eggar says the outdoor deck and patio area accommodates the 6 foot distancing rules and the restaurant will also utilize a call ahead seating schedule.

"You just call and give your name, and you'll be given an estimated time — maybe 30 minutes, or maybe seating is immediately available," Egger said. "We'll text you and tell you your table is ready. We can't have people standing in the restaurant, waiting."

The QC Times article also lists the restaurants hours for the first weekend. They're open for dinner at 4 p.m., which is the regular opening time Monday through Thursday. Beginning Aug. 21, weekend hours will be 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Friday through Sunday.

The outdoor patio can accommodate 80 people.
