Casey’s in Western Illinois Held Up at Gunpoint

This is still way too close to home.

I read on WQAD.com attempted robbery happened Monday night at an Andover, IL. Casey's General Store. The robber, who has still not been identified, used a shot gun to rob the store. Once the clerk informed him there wasn't any money in the drawer, he left.

I can't imagine being the clerk, staring down the barrel of a shotgun. It makes me think of a video I saw last year of a firefighter in Texas who took down an armed robber at a store, very similar to this one. That firefighter reminds me of so many people in our community, who I know for a fact, would have done the same thing, without hesitation.

This guy reminds me of so many Hawk listeners I see out and about at different events and it makes me proud of our country music fans who love their community and their country, who would jump in to help save the day.
