Chris Lane is gearing up to release his debut record titled Girl Problems. Lane says the album’s title came to him after noticing a common theme between most of the songs he was recording.

“While in the studio working on the album, I started to notice a trend … every song seemed to be about some type of ‘girl problem’,” Lane notes, laughing. “So it was only fitting to title the album Girl Problems!”

The album includes his current single "Fix," which has been making waves on the charts already, having achieved a spot in the Top 10 on country radio, not to mention 19 million streams on Spotify and 3 million views on Vevo.

Lane has been gradually making a space for himself within country music with his Fix EP, hitting the road with Dustin Lynch’s Hell of a Night Tour and winning over artists like Florida Georgia Line and Rascal Flatts. He’s currently on tour with the latter, along with Kelsea Ballerini.

Though the other tracks have yet to be shared, Lane has shared a bit about the backstory of “Fix,” which was actually inspired by his vocal performance. His producer, Joey Moi, overheard Lane singing a falsetto part from an Usher tune one day and told Lane it was the type of thing they needed to put on the album.

"He was like ‘What was that?'" Lane remembered during a stop at the Grand Ole Opry Story. "'Why don’t you do stuff like that when you get in the vocal booth?'"

When "Fix" was presented to Lane, it reminded him of the music he loved growing up, he says, though initially he was intimidated by the high notes. But he persevered, and the catchy song continues to grow in popularity and earn him a slot on the country newcomers A-list.

Chris Lane's Girl Problems hits shelves on Aug. 5.
