It's National Pancake Day, and we may need a free stack after last night's action.

1 - Severe thunderstorms with 70mph winds spawning a possible tornado blew through our area last night. Muscatine seems to have taken the worst of the damage. As of 6am today, MidAmerican reported about 2500 people without power, primarily in northwest Davenport and the Parkview area, where there were reports of a funnel cloud crossing I-80 around 10:30pm. Power lines fell across both sides of Interstate 280, and a semi-truck crash backed up traffic. WQAD Meteorologist Taylor Graham has the forecast for today here.

2 - An explosion caused significant damage to a business in Rock Island yesterday. A propane tank used for jewelry repair at Vintage Antiques on 14th Avenue at 30th Street exploded around noon yesterday. No one was injured. WQAD's Katrina Lamansky has details here.

3 - What looked like a minor train derailment wreaked havoc on Davenport streets yesterday. A Canadian Pacific train pulling over 100 cars derailed, blocking several intersections. WQAD's Jenna Morton reports that the train is finally moving out of Davenport this morning.

4 - It's National Pancake Day. Participating IHOP's are offering up a free small stack in exchange for a donation to select charities. Read more about it on my blog.

Have a great Tuesday.

- Craig
