It would have been my Mom's 80th birthday today. Happy Birthday, Mom.

1 - A few intermittent showers and clouds are lingering in the area this morning, but it should otherwise be a sunny day, though cool like yesterday. WQAD Meteorologist Eric Sorensen has your forecast details here.

2 - The Quad City River Bandits split a four-game series with Cedar Rapids over the weekend. The Bandits moves on to Wisconsin for the start of the week with a first-pitch start of 7:05pm on our sister station KBOB AM 1170. Scores and more when we do That Sports Thing at around 7:40am on The Morning KIIK Start.

3 - Ground will finally be officially broken on construction of the I-74 bridge today in Bettendorf, that is if Governor Rauner can scrounge up enough money from the Illinois treasury for a shovel. My thoughts on the long road to get to today, here.

4 - KIIK is proud to be a sponsor of Bettendorf's 4th of July celebration this coming holiday weekend. Check out the schedule of events here. More entertainment news when we Do That Hollywood Thing at about 8:40am on FM 104-9.

Have a great Monday and a great week.

- Craig
