Last day of June. Halfway point of 2017. Holiday weekend.  Woohoo!

1 - Today will be a mixed bag. We'll see peaks of sunshine and the humidity will slowly drop. Chance of a shower can't be ruled out. WQAD Meteorologist Eric Sorensen has the forecast details here.

2 - The Mega Millions lottery game becomes the latest victim of the Illinois budget stalemate after tonight's draw, just as Powerball did after Wednesday night's draw. While you may be inclined to buy a ticket for tonight's last Illinois Mega Millions, you may not get paid if you win.

3 - The Cubs rallied for 3 runs in the 9th inning to top the Nationals 5-4 yesterday. The North Siders open a 3-game series against the Reds in Cincinnati today. Catch the play-by-play with Pat Hughes on our sister station ESPN 93.5, starting with the pre-game show at 5:35pm. Scores and more when we do That Sports Thing at around 7:40am on The Morning KIIK Start.

4 - KIIK 104-9 is a proud sponsor of the 4th of July celebration in Bettendorf on Tuesday. Click here for a schedule of events. Watch for me in the KIIK truck in the parade on Tuesday morning, and later in the day by the stage on Spruce Hills Drive. More entertainment news when we do That Hollywood Thing at around 8:40am on FM 104-9.

Have a great long weekend, and Happy 4th of July.

- Craig
