It's the weekend. The final weekend of January. Spring can't be that far away, right?

1 - The Rock Island Girls Basketball team won their sixth straight conference title with 57-18 win over Alleman last night. The Lady Rocks finish the regular season with a 25-1 record, 8-0 versus the Big 6. I'll have all of last night's High School hoops scores in That Sports Thing at about 7:35am on The Morning KIIK Start.

2 - Our news partners at WQAD report that Iowa lawmakers moved to take all $6 million out of the the Iowa Cultural Trust in attempts to help cover a nearly $110 million budget loss. Yesterday's move takes much needed funds from the budget's of The Figge Art Museum, The Genesis Theatre Foundation, River Music Experience and Midwest Writing Center, and The Quad City Symphony Orchestra. 3 - We'll be stuck in a pretty steady, dismal weather pattern for the next four to five days. WQAD meteorologist Eric Sorensen says skies will remain mostly cloudy with stray flurries mixed in on-and-off throughout the day. Temperatures will hover around the freezing mark of 32º during the day, and drop to the low 20's at night. Watch Eric's forecast here.

4 - The band Queen is reuniting with singer Adam Lambert for a 25-night summer tour that will play Chicago's United Center on July 13. Tickets go on sale to the public next Friday, February 3. Queen first performed with Lambert when he was a contestant on season 8 of 'American Idol.' Click here for a list of 2017 Queen tour dates.
