As many of us witnessed, violent storms hit the QCA last night. Tornadoes were reported in Rock Island County, from Rapids City to East Moline, at the I80 and I88 intersection near LeClaire, in the area of Good Hope, IL and other locations within the Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois area. Damage was widespread, with reports of power outages, accidents, collapsed buildings and downed trees.

According to WQAD, damage occurred at the Moline Target and Hyvee, off of John Deere Road. Cart corals could be seen smashed into nearly unrecognizable hunks of metal. Witnesses also saw structural damage to Hyvee and Ross Dress for Less.

The tornado that hit Rock Island County was confirmed to be an EF-2. WQAD reports that four homes in the Evergreen Village subdivision were destroyed. Although ten people were reported to have been injured, no deaths have been reported thus far.

Many residents were still without power as of this morning. According to MidAmerican energy, over 8,000 homes lost power during the storms last night, but the number had dropped significantly by this morning, to just a few hundred.

Area residents were able to capture some of the damage on camera. Check out our gallery to see just how hard the storms hit the QCA.
