Chili's lovers, I've got some bad news for you.

As Business Insider reports, the restaurant chain announced that starting September 18, they will begin the process of removing 40 percent of their menu items from every location, including Davenport's. The reason? Chili's menu had ballooned so much over the years with different types of dishes that they currently have 115 items listed. The chain is hoping to get back to their roots by focusing more on items they were built on, like burgers, fajitas, and margaritas.

That means that trendier fare is on the chopping block. Items such as Mango Tilapia, Buffalo Fried Cauliflower, and Crispy Asparagus are disappearing right away, and many others are set to follow. Although no other items have officially been announced for removal, reducing 40 percent of the menu means 46 things have to go. Business Insider speculates that some of the soups and salads could be next, along with Flat Breads and Fresh Mex Bowls.

I'm sure many Chili's lovers will be waiting with baited breath to hear what else is going to be removed. I do think this will end up being a wise decision by Chili's, since it does seem like their menu had gotten larger and more excessive in recent years, but I know that there will be some pretty angry restaurant-goers on September 18. I'm cool with Chili's as long as they never remove the Molten Chocolate Cake. If that goes, I may just cry.
