It's amazing how fast Mother Nature can go from "You'll get less than an inch of snow in most places, and it'll melt quickly" to "Yeah, I feel like giving you three to five inches of snow today, is that cool?"

In this case, she made the switch in just 24 hours. And, as a result, the City of Davenport has declared a snow emergency. According to KWQC, the snow emergency will go into effect at 7 p.m. tonight, and extend to 7 p.m. Thursday, the 31st.

Davenport Public Works issued a statement on their Facebook page, reminding residents that "parking on Posted Snow Routes is prohibited when a Snow Emergency is in effect. The possibility of snow and a rain snow mix are possible after noon today with the bulk of snow expected to fall between 6pm Wed Oct 30 and 6am Thu Oct 31."

Unfortunately, that may put a damper on Halloween, but we'll just have to see!
