Davenport city officials have had to make some tough calls in light of the recent flooding.

KWQC reports that the Scott County Management Agency has been given the go-ahead by the Iowa DNR to pump sewage into the river. The reason behind the move? The water system has reached capacity in Davenport and not pumping would result in water backups throughout the QCA.

It may seem like obvious advice, but the Management Agency is reminding residents to stay away from flood waters. The fact that sewage will now be mixed in makes the water all the more unsafe.
