It seems downtown Bettendorf has been 'under construction' for awhile now. Much of that construction is attributed to the changes making way for the new I-74 bridge. This weekend the downtown is ready to celebrate some of those changes with a Be Downtown open house.

According to the City of Bettendorf's website, this Saturday, June 2, from 12 p.m. - 6:00 p.m., a large number of downtown businesses  on State and Grant Streets will open their doors for a collaborative open house.

The event includes food and drink samples, of art sculptures displays, face painting, music, The Bridges Lofts is hosting hard hat tours and more. A grand prize basket valued at over $500, with items from each participating business, will be awarded to one lucky attendee. Live music will be featured all day at an outdoor stage located at The River’s Edge, 1805 State Street.

Free bus rides will be available at Bettendorf City Hall, Leach Park, State Street Interiors, Purgatory's Pub and K&K Hardware.
