Tasering isn't something to be taken lightly.

A 16-year-old girl from McConnellsville, Ohio who has been diagnosed with terminal leukemia put together a bucket list and recently got to do one of the more unusual items on it: Taser someone.

The police department trained Alyssa Elkins to properly use the gun last weekend, while a few brave volunteers agreed to let her shoot them.

"It makes us feel good just to know she's getting to experience some things that she wants to do," said Alyssa's mother, Tiffany Elkins.

"It's painful, but given her situation, it's a no-brainer," Sergeant Bline said. "If I were her parent in this situation, I'd be happy to know that someone was willing to do this for her."

Alyssa was surprised at how much of an impact the stun gun has. "I didn't know it was going to be that painful really," she said.

As for her impending death, Alyssa is bracing for it with a maturity and clarity that defies her youth. "God loves everybody and he's for us and not against us," she said. "He puts us through trials. In the end, I'm not really scared. If he takes me, I know where I'm going."
