The Quad Cities is losing another restaurant. Wednesday night, the Quad Cities got word from the owners of Freshii in Bettendorf that they will be permanently closing their doors after serving salads, bowls, smoothies, and burritos for a little over two years.

Wednesday night, January 5th, 2022, we learned of another Quad Cities restaurant closing its doors for good. Jake and Courtney Eikenberry, the owners of Freshii at 5009 Competition Dr. in Bettendorf near the TBK Bank Sports Complex announced that they are closing the restaurant.

The Eikenberrys announced the news on social media via Facebook and Instagram.

They opened their post by saying,

"To our Wonderful community… The Freshii Bettendorf family thanks and appreciates you so much for your support since our opening in August 2019… We have made so many great memories and friends on this crazy journey and we couldn’t be more thankful for each and every one of you."

They continued by announcing "with a heavy heart and the feeling of defeat.." that they are closing the Bettendorf Freshii location permanently.

The Eikenberrys continued in their post saying,

"We have fought hard through the adversities and tried to roll with the punches but unfortunately, we have not been able to recover. We have exhausted all resources and even over-extended ourselves to try and keep Freshii open."

The post said how appreciative they were to be able to employ numerous, amazing individuals, along with watching many of them grow and become young professionals beyond working behind the counter.

The post continued,

"To us, Freshii was bigger than salads, bowls, smoothies, and burritos… it was an opportunity to try and make an impact on other people's lives. Was the operation always perfect? Absolutely not. But we hope that we were able to make a positive impact on some of the individuals we crossed paths with along the way."

Freshii will be open until they have depleted their inventory. The Eickenberrys predict that the inventory should last through the end of the weekend and they hope to see customers one last time.

The Eikenberrys finished their post with words of wisdom we should all remember when visiting our favorite, local Quad City businesses,

"Times have been hard for all businesses in the service industry.. so please continue to support your local establishments, respect one another, be patient, and just remember that everyone is under different circumstances that may be out of their control.

We are all in this together."

Freshii was founded in 2005 in Toronto, Canada. Serving burritos, wraps, soups, salads, and frozen yogurt, Freshii has over 300 locations across 85+ cities in 20 countries.
