If you're a child of the 80s you probably remember getting a sugar buzz from your breakfast cereal. Chances are you're going to love this news.

General Mills has announced a nostalgic return to the shapes and flavors of the 1980s in four of their top brand cereals.

According to Business Wire, four popular cereals including Trix, Cocoa Puffs, Golden Grams and Cookie Crisp will all undergo a flavor relaunch featuring a retro throwback theme called the Ultimate Taste Comeback.

Jennifer Jorgensen, vice president of marketing for General Mills cereal said

“Our fans crave a taste of nostalgia – and, while these four cereals have always remained popular, we’ve answered their requests and brought back the taste they remember from childhood. We’re hoping fans can relive these fun moments while sharing the classic taste they loved with their own families now.”

Cereal lovers fondly remember gulping down big bowls in front of the TV set watching Saturday morning cartoons. So General Mills is adding an at-home cartoon viewing experience to the re-launch on Saturday October 3rd at 8:00 a.m. You can find out how to view it here.

The four brands with improved flavors are already on store shelves, so you can stock up for the big event.

We say bravo to General Mills for bringing back the flavorful delights, but with one dire warning: whatever you do next, don't mess with the new seasonal favorite, Pumpkin Spice Cheerios.
