I've heard of former military members exaggerating their "war stories", but this is ridiculous.

66-year old William Jones, of Geneseo, has been charged with theft of government funds and falsifying statements to the V.A. in order to receive disability benefits.

Jones allegedly claimed that he served in Vietnam and filled out a form citing that he was involved in special forces operations during the 1970's.

The indictment also claims Jones said he was shot down behind enemy lines before being rescued six days later.

Jones reportedly then went on to fabricate documents, saying he received combat medals.

His trial is set to begin August 1st.
