Governor Reynolds Asks All Iowans to Take Online Assessment

This morning at her daily press conference, Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds announced a new partnership that will provide thousands more COVID-19 tests in the state. She also asked every Iowan to take an assessment on a new website, to help determine who should get tested first. The state of Iowa will also be doing contact tracing to help slow the spread of the virus.

According to the governor, the 'Test Iowa' partnership between the state of Iowa, Silicon Slopes Initiative, and Nomi Health will provide 540,000 COVID tests. It will allow up to 3,000 additional tests in the state of Iowa each day.

Governor Reynolds is asking everyone in Iowa to take an online assessment HERE. The website is TestIowa.com. I took the assessment. It involves a series of questions that determine your risk for the virus, if you have any underlying conditions, and your personal information. If the assessment shows you should be tested, you'll receive a follow-up email that will allow you to do that at a location where drive-up testing is being held.

Yes, drive-up testing will be starting in Iowa this weekend. The first event will be held this Saturday in Des Moines, in the north parking lot of the Iowa Events Center. Additional drive-up testing sites around Iowa could open as soon as next week.

We encourage everyone to take the assessment. It's a step in the right direction to reopening the state of Iowa. That's something we definitely all want, sooner rather than later, when it's safe.
