Ever since my little chihuahua got into some chocolate a few years ago, I'm super aware of what dogs can and cannot eat. Here are some tips to keep your pets safe during the holidays and avoid the animal ER.

According to the American Kennel Club, here's what your furry family member can and can't eat this Thanksgiving -

DO NOT Feed:
Turkey Skin
Turkey Bones
Turkey Stuffing
Turkey Gravy
Candy and Gum (may contain Xylitol)
Mashed Potatoes
Creamed Peas
Sweet Potatoes and Yams with added ingredients
Pumpkin Pie – May contain Xylitol
Chocolate Desserts
Alcoholic Beverages
Salads with Raisins or Grapes
Onions
Scallions

DO Feed your Dog:
Turkey Meat (no bone or skin)
Plain Potatoes and Sweet Potatoes
Plain cooked Pumpkin
Plain Peas
Apple
