If you're out celebrating Halloween tonight and this weekend, you may experience an unexpected thrill.

17 Quad-City area women in a zombie-inspired dance crew, the Monsters of Mayhem, have made a tradition out of performing the routine from the 1983 “Thriller” music video several times — some planned and some impromptu — during the final weekend in October.

According to a Quad-City Times article, Michelle Vetter started the Quad City group five years ago with her best friend.

The dance troupe, currently all women, will dance at tonight's Fright Night in Schwiebert Riverfront Park. They also plan to be at several places Saturday, which is international "Thrill the World" day.

On Saturday, they will dance at all four Quad-Cities Goodwill locations, and the nonprofit is sponsoring Fright Night.Their dance routine will coincide with  similar events happening at the same time in over 70 cities around the world.

Starting at 7 p.m. Saturday, they also will do bar excursions, driven by a party bus including our sister station, the Dwyer & Michaels Costume Ball for the first time at 9:30 p.m. at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds. They'll also be at Daiquiri Factory and Icons in Rock Island, Fargo in Moline, Hawkeye Tap and Gypsy Highway in Davenport and the Foster's Voice Birthday Bash at CASI in Davenport. For more info, visit thrilltheworld.com.

You can learn the dance too at They practiced to the instructional videos posted at thrilltheworld.com/learn-the-dance.
