The closer we get to the end of the year, the closer we get to the construction on the Iowa side of the I-74 getting done. Construction on the bridge has been long, and frustrating, but the team has done a great job keeping us updated.

They even started using the hashtag #PardonourProgressQC. Hopefully this progress will pay off in 2021.

Some of that progress lead to some traffic changes for the ending half of this week.

"Weather permitting, there will be changing traffic patterns on Iowa-bound I-74 between 7th Avenue and River Drive in Moline on Wednesday, October 14 and Thursday, October 15."

All motorists should watch for flaggers at the Iowa-bound I-74 U-turn directing contractor vehicles in and out of the construction zone.

For this week and upcoming ones you can expect delays, drive with caution, and watch for signs announcing when the interstate will be closed.

Times of the closing and recommendations were given for this week the recommendation.

Closures of Iowa-bound I-74 at 7th Avenue during non-peak hours, between 8:30 AM and 2:30 PM and after 5:30 PM. During these intermittent closures, motorists will be directed to exit at 7th Avenue. When Iowa-bound I-74 is temporarily closed, motorists can exit at 7th Avenue and turn right, then take northbound 23rd Street, westbound River Drive, and then the on-ramp to Iowa-bound I-74.

So keep an eye out and stay safe QC.
