Iowa Beef Council Names Best Burger For 2020
We all love a good burger. We really, really love an award winning burger! Well the Iowa Beef Council has awarded the "Best Burger of 2020" and we are hungry.
This years winner is The Twisted Tail in BeeBeeTown, Iowa. Yes, BeeBeeTown. I'll let you check out where that is right here on Google Maps, but basically, it's on the border of Iowa and Nebraska. Don't eat before you leave, and then get ready for this one.
The burger is two 8 oz patties with a fried egg on top. And of course smothered in cheese. According to the Iowa Beef Council it's made out of 80% lean ground chuck, the winning burger patty is simply seasoned, allowing the true flavor of the meat to shine. The Certified Angus Beef is all locally sourced. The Iowa Beef Council said in a release:
The western Iowa restaurant has been owned by Ed and Ruth Spencer since 2011, and is managed by two of their three children, Luke and Hannah. In addition to the restaurant, the family also farms and runs a real estate and auction business.
Throughout the past few months, the family has worked together to ensure that their patrons have been able to continue enjoying the Twisted Tail’s delicious meals. “You will often see the grandchildren helping bus tables on Friday and Saturday nights,” says Hannah (Spencer) Johnson.
