I am a big history buff.  I have a lineage that I can trace back to Germany over 400 years ago. And my family were instrumental players in the Revolutionary War... for the British. Sorry, eh.

My home in Rock Island is almost 100 years old, and I am an avid Quad Cities history buff. So, I am pretty excited to see the latest initiative by the Iowa State Historical Museum to spread history throughout the state.

A 38-foot RV packed with artifacts from Iowa's past is traversing the state for the next three years. It's called “Iowa History 101,” a traveling mobile museum.

The 'Historymobile' will visit LeClaire for the Memorial Day weekend. The traveling exhibit can be found on the Levee in downtown Le Claire Friday through Tuesday from 10am-4pm.

The exhibit then moves on to the Putnam Museum in Davenport from May 30-June 4
